Support Tree Planting

Information about the Trees for Farms scheme which helps tree planting by reducing labour costs and bureaucracy.

Trees are important for people, wildlife and the environment. In our towns and villages, trees can help reduce the urban heat island effect while filtering the air of pollutants at huge benefit to our health. Numerous studies have found that trees also benefit our mental health. On this page you can find Swale Borough Councils' tree planting events and any relevant funding opportunities.

The Woodland Trust has lots of opportunities for landowners and farmers, including trees, funding and advice.

  • If you are looking to plant 500+ trees on at least half a hectare, the Woodland Trust will visit, help design your woodland, create bespoke species mixes and cover up to 75% of the cost through their MOREwoods scheme.
  • Alternatively, landowners seeking to establish new hedgerows
